The Tournai Museum of Natural History and Vivarium has always had a very active and collaborative scientific programme. It works closely with the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (E.A.Z.A.) on the conservation programme for the Jamaican boa (Chilabothrus subflavus) and with various Belgian universities on more specific projects. With the arrival of Lucas Terrana, collections manager and doctor in marine biology, the museum has significantly strengthened this fundamental area of museum activity. Lucas Terrana is involved in a number of scientific research projects, including the United Nations’ "Under de Pole IV: Deep life". Lucas Terrana's specific work alternates between diving and laboratory fieldwork and focuses on black corals (Anthipatharia). Whether in the Canaries, Madagascar or elsewhere, don't hesitate to follow his work on our social networks.
